Suzanne works from an integrative approach, utilising a client centered focus in her work with people and sees the counselling relationship as an important vehicle for change. She primarily uses a Psychodynamic Therapy framework, but also draws from a variety of other therapeutic modalities and techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Relational Psychotherapy and Existential Therapy. She values honesty, integrity and openness in her counselling and strives to create a supportive environment where people can achieve their goals. In an atmosphere of non-judgement, acceptance and safety, therapeutic change can occur.
All of us have patterns of relating to others which we acquire throughout life. Most of these are useful and adaptive but sometimes they can become stuck as the only way we relate to others. Suzanne understands that by working through old patterns which are no longer working, people can create meaningful change in their lives.
Suzanne is an AHPRA registered supervisor and provides clinical supervision to psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and allied health professionals. She offers training programs and education to health professionals in the area of sexual and reproductive health.
